SUMMARY:
The Nail Technician is responsible for providing guests with manicure and pedicure services, including acrylic and gel nail services in a professional and courteous manner and is able to give professional recommendations of products and additional services to guests based on client needs. Provides a clean and safe spa experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Provides guests with professional manicure and pedicure services and acrylic and gel nail services.
- Educates guests about individual nail care needs and other services available.
- Demonstrates respect, sensitivity and concern for guests’ needs in a professional and pleasant manner.
- Responsible for professional recommendations of products and additional services to guests.
- Completes personalized treatment card for each guest
- Adheres to Four Winds Casinos standards for guest service
- Refers guest problems or complaints to supervisor.
- Maintains supplies in pedicure and manicure products per assignment.
- Reports inventory needs to Spa Manager.
- Fills out and keeps pedicure logs up-to-date.
- Assures the supply of polish remains clean and is not removed from the area.
- Maintains clean and neat workstation during shift; leaves area clean for next shift.
- Restocks products and linens during shift as assigned. Replaces polishes after use.
- Cleans and sterilizes equipment as necessary and as required by the State of Indiana law.
- Adheres to all sanitation standards for infectious disease as dictated by State or Federal governments.
- Reports any nonworking or unsafe equipment to department head.
- Secures department upon nightly closing.
- Performs duties assigned by the Spa Manager when not performing services, including periodic checks of the locker rooms
- Maintains schedules and works hours as they are booked.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Must possess a current State Cosmetology or Nail Technician license.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to interact positively and professionally with a variety of people. Should understand the market and how to interact with sensitivity to guest needs. Must possess a positive and cooperative attitude, exercising reason.
This position requires a LEVEL 4 Gaming License.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.

The employee is regularly exposed to risk of exposure to cleaning and other chemicals used for services and in the maintenance of the property. Gloves required for all services and goggles available for all services. Masks required for acrylics.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. A casino environment is typically smoky.
