Duties
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process customer transactions, including cash handling and credit card payments
- Deliver excellent customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and resolving concerns with professionalism and warmth
- Assist customers with product demos and upselling opportunities to enhance their shopping experience and increase sales
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Support inventory management through stocking, inventory counts, and communicating stock needs to management
- Practice effective phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Promote a positive store environment through clear communication skills and teamwork
Experience
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar retail environments
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Experience in product demos, upselling techniques, and merchandising strategies enhances performance
- Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with customers and team members effectively
