Position Overview:
Apex FSE JV is seeking a knowledgeable and dependable Part-Time Facility Manager to support facility maintenance operations under a federal contract with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in Memphis, TN. This role will focus on overseeing safety, compliance, and contractor performance during scheduled site visits and providing remote coordination with full-time field personnel as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct weekly site walkthroughs to verify safety, maintenance progress, and contract compliance
- Serve as part-time on-site liaison with the USDA Technical Point-of-Contact during inspections or scheduled check-ins
- Review and validate maintenance logs, safety reports, and service records to ensure quality and compliance
- Support coordination of subcontractor activity and ensure tasks are being completed per the Performance Work Statement (PWS)
- Provide oversight and technical input on corrective actions or escalated service issues
- Participate in remote progress meetings and assist in preparation of deliverables and documentation
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction or facility maintenance supervision (federal or institutional projects preferred)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), and preventive maintenance practices
- Experience coordinating with field crews or subcontractors
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and specifications
- Associate degree or technical certification preferred
- U.S. military veteran status a plus
- Must pass background investigation and comply with federal security requirements
