Job Overview:
A Building Automation System (BAS) Technician installs, maintains, and troubleshoots automated systems that control a building’s HVAC, lighting, and energy usage. They program controllers, monitor system performance, and diagnose issues using specialized software and tools to ensure efficient and reliable operation. The role involves routine maintenance, responding to service calls, and supporting system upgrades while working with engineers and facility managers. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, and networking is important, along with problem-solving skills, as the job focuses on improving energy efficiency, maintaining system performance, and ensuring occupant comfort and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert for various building BAS systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC control systems.
- Calibrate and test HVAC control systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair building systems and ensure building systems are operating as intended.
- Diagnose control level components including pneumatic, electric, and electronic controls.
- Work closely with technicians to PM plant systems.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
