We are seeking a full-time Commercial Estimator to join Four Seasons Sunrooms and Windows, located in Birmingham, AL. Four Seasons is one of the largest manufacturers of sunrooms, screen enclosures, and greenhouses and solutions for outdoor living spaces. Four Seasons is a solid, growth- driven company delivering quality products. Through over 20 locations across the US, we serve contractors with their building product’s needs.
Responsibilities for this Position Include:
- Experience with Division 10730 protective walkways and covers for the header.
- Take-Offs, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services
- Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times etc.
- Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work
- Calculate cost factors for expenses like purchases, inventory and labor
- Prepare reports, quotes and bids that detail the cost of a project
- Establish and maintain tendering process, and conduct negotiations
- Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss cost estimates and resolve cost-related issues
- Review material and labor requirements, to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of experience in estimating, ideally in residential or commercial construction, pre-construction or project management.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, construction materials and methods, building codes and industry standards, takeoffs and cost breakdowns.
- Familiarity with estimating software.
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and math skills
- Auto Cad Experience Required
