Position Overview
Under direct supervision, performs Non-Destructive Analysis job functions as assigned by management. Typical job responsibilities assist and support management in ensuring proper completion and documentation of assigned non-destructive testing and analysis in accordance with all applicable requirements. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support management in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:
BA/BS degree in a related field and 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Typical experience ranges from 1 - 4 years.
Knowledge Of Project Specific Procedures And Requirements Is Preferred
Basic knowledge of EPA, DOE, OEPA, state and local environmental regulations
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Must possess a DOE "L" clearance or the ability to obtain a DOE "L" Clearance
Working Conditions
Work in an office at a normal environmental restoration atmosphere (outdated and/or abandoned facilities or industrial field environments). May also work at off-project sites representing the organization at various types of locations throughout the community for business purposes. Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards, dangerous chemicals/solvents or hazardous and radioactive materials if proper safety procedures are not followed.
Ability to perform sedentary to light work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally (any exertion of force/lifting greater than 45 pounds requires usage of a two person "buddy system"), non-repetitive, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly, repetitive; performing such activities as lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, grasping, kneeling, stooping, reaching.
Ability to perform primary office duties including heavy computer usage.
Radiological and Fissile Material Handler training is required.

- Perform basic tests and/or inspections and collect all testing data as necessary to evaluate materials in accordance to established protocols and procedures
- Analyze test, inspection of statistical and/or analytical data to determine material composition, condition, structure and/or conformity as determined by appropriate testing protocol and operational requirements
- Document and communicate all testing and analysis results and quality control as required by protocol or procedure and in accordance with managerial direction. Validate /certify testing process and outcomes as required
- Monitor and notify management regarding adverse trends in test results, equipment operation or related factors; comply with all corrective action procedures as appropriate
- Set up, operate and calibrate testing equipment in accordance with protocol and requirements
- Perform basic routine maintenance of NDA instruments/systems, as directed by supervision
- Assists with identifying anomalies and producing data for NDA analytical review and analysis
- Assists to ensure the main element(s) of interest for the measurements comply with specific Data Quality Objectives to meet customer (NCS, NMC&A,Waste Management, etc.) needs
- Support both In Situ and Ex Situ NDA Measurements (to include cascade components and piping) using commercial NDA equipment
- Successfully complete all NDA specific classroom and hands on training to demonstrate competency of NDA fundamentals and NDA instrument performance requirements
- Perform duties of general/route complexity in nature
- Other job-related duties as assigned
- Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures and applicable regulations and performs assigned duties in a safe manner
- Actively participates in Safety Work Groups
