- Assist pharmacists in receiving, reviewing, and processing prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare medications for dispensing, including labeling and packaging.
- Perform final accuracy checks before pharmacist verification.
- Greet and assist patients with prescription pickups and inquiries.
- Educate patients on medication adherence and available financial assistance programs.
- Facilitate communication between the pharmacy and healthcare providers.
- Help maintain compliance with the 340B Drug Pricing Program by ensuring proper documentation and eligibility verification.
- Support patients in accessing cost-saving medication programs and assist with prior authorizations.
- Maintain accurate medication inventory and reorder stock as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations, including proper storage and handling of medications.
- Assist with medication recalls and expired medication disposal.
- Process insurance claims and troubleshoot billing issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using pharmacy management software.
- Support workflow optimization to improve pharmacy efficiency and patient experience.
- Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Desire to help others and go above and beyond traditional care
- Preferred:
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
- Strong understanding of prescription processing and pharmacy operations.
- Experience in a community pharmacy or FQHC pharmacy setting.
- Knowledge of 340B program regulations and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and pharmacy management systems (e.g., PioneerRx, eClinicalWorks).
- Bilingual skills (Spanish or other languages) are a plus.
