What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front of House Team Members - Four Quarters (Winooski, VT) position at Four Quarters Brewing, LLC?
Front of House (FOH) Staff - Four Quarters Brewing (Winooski, VT)
Seasonal, Part-Time Full-Time | May-Oct focus (with spring onboarding)
Four Quarters is a restaurant, event space and brewery at 70 Main Street in Winooski. We’re built on the idea that everything runs in cycles, seed to season to return and we try to honor that by creating products and experiences that feel thoughtful and well cared for. Our mission is simple: make people feel good and make Winooski (and Vermont) a better place.
This summer we’re going all-in on activating our unique outdoor space. Turning 70 Main into Winooski’s backyard and playground with a reliable calendar of outdoor programming, music, food, and experiential events. If you’re friendly, fast, calm under pressure, and you like staying busy as part of a small team, we want to meet you.
The Job
You’ll help bring Four Quarters to life on the floor - great service, great energy, and events that feel effortless to guests because the team is locked in behind the scenes. You’ll work across bar, floor, and backyard programming, with a focus on consistency, communication, and making people feel genuinely welcome.
What We Believe (How We Work)
- Food and drinks are the excuse. Hospitality is the craft. Community is the point.
- We are warm and relaxed without being sloppy. We have fun without being chaotic.
- Consistency is respect: for guests, coworkers, and our products.
- Leadership isn’t a title here. If you see it, you can lead.
- Problems get raised early, not complained about late.
What You’ll Do
Guest experience service
- Provide welcoming, efficient service and help create a relaxed, high-energy vibe.
- Take orders, run food/drinks, manage tabs/checkouts (Toast), and support table turns.
- Handle guest questions and service recovery.
- Practice responsible alcohol service.
Events outdoor operations
- Support live music, ticketed shows, vendor activations, and busy outdoor weekends.
- Help with event setup/breakdown, flow management, and keeping guests safe and happy.
- Work closely with the team to keep the space clean, organized, warm, and intentional, inside and outside.
Team coordination
- Follow opening/closing checklists and take pride in doing the small things well.
- Communicate constantly during shifts and across departments.
- Show up prepared: know what’s on the calendar and what it means for service.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong communication. With others on the floor, the kitchen and everyone in between.
- Consistency and pace. You can keep standards up when it’s busy.
- Team-first attitude. No blame loops. No “not my job.”
- Reliability. You show up on time, ready to work, and you follow through.
- Hospitality experience is great (bar, serving, runner, host), but if you’re sharp and coachable we’ll train you.
What You’ll Get
- Base pay: Vermont tipped minimum wage tips (typical total earnings $28–$38/hr including tips, tips vary by shift).
- Flexible scheduling (with priority for people who can work nights, weekends and events)
- A summer of real momentum: outdoor programming and new experiences
- Clear expectations, supportive leadership, and a team that takes pride in improving every week.
