Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and guide them to their tables with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Present menus, explain specials, and recommend dishes or beverages to enhance the guest experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff
- Upsell menu items and beverages to maximize sales while maintaining genuine guest engagement
- Serve food and drinks efficiently, ensuring proper presentation and adherence to food safety standards
- Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction, address any concerns promptly, and provide outstanding customer service
- Assist with bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the shift
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations for bills and tips
- Support sanitation standards by following proper food handling procedures and restaurant policies
- Collaborate with team members including hosts/hostesses and kitchen staff to deliver seamless service in a fine dining or nightlife environment
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightlife settings
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable for order processing and sales tracking
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build guest relations and handle diverse customer needs
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining genuine guest interactions
- Basic math skills for cashiering, bill splitting, and cash handling accuracy
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Previous experience in serving, bussing, or host/hostess roles is highly desirable
- Familiarity with the food industry’s operational procedures including food preparation support when needed
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members in a fast-paced environment
