In this role, you will be responsible for supervising playgroups, ensuring animal safety, and providing exceptional care that promotes happy, healthy dogs. Duties
- Monitor and supervise dogs during playtime to ensure safe interactions and prevent conflicts
- Assist with dog handling, including guiding dogs through activities and managing their behavior using positive reinforcement techniques
- Perform animal restraint and handling procedures to ensure safety during feeding, grooming, or veterinary visits
- Maintain cleanliness of the daycare area, including cleaning kennels, play zones, and equipment regularly
- Provide pet grooming services such as bathing, brushing, or nail trimming as needed
- Support pet sitting duties by feeding, administering medications, and observing dogs’ health status throughout the day
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog’s behavior, needs, and any concerns that arise during the day
Experience
- Prior experience in dog handling or pet care roles such as kennel technician, veterinary assistant, or pet sitter is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior management is a plus
- Experience with veterinary procedures or veterinary technician work enhances your ability to recognize health issues early
- Background in pet grooming or animal care provides a strong foundation for maintaining high standards of hygiene and comfort
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or assist with larger dogs
- Excellent customer service skills to build trust with pet owners and address their questions confidently
