The Human Resources Specialist plays a key role in supporting the recruitment and onboarding process from start to finish. This position is responsible for reviewing job applications, conducting initial outreach to candidates, completing pre-employment verifications, and maintaining accurate and organized documentation. This is a part-time position.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating with applicants. Success in this role requires the ability to follow established processes consistently, ensure compliance, and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and pre-screen employment applications to assess candidate qualifications and alignment with position requirements
- Conduct initial phone outreach to applicants to gather additional information, clarify experience, and evaluate overall fit
- Coordinate and complete pre-employment verifications, including reference checks and background documentation
- Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date candidate records within HRIS
- Communicate professionally and consistently with hiring managers regarding candidate status and next steps
- Assist with clerical and administrative HR tasks as needed
What you need:
A High School diploma or GED with 2 years related expereince or equivalent is required for this position. An Associate’s degree in a Human Resources, Business, Accounting or related field of study and two years of relevant work experience is preferred. Additional qualifications include:
· Ability to evaluate information thoughtfully and apply consistent standards
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information
· Comfortable making outbound calls and engaging with applicants in a professional manner
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS or applicant tracking systems preferred
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured, organized, and deadline-driven environment
