Four Knights Chess Academy is looking for enthusiastic, responsible, and motivated individuals to join our team of after-school chess coaches. Our programs are offered at private and public schools throughout Massachusetts.

Responsibilities
- Teach fun and engaging chess and math classes to elementary school students
- Teach chess fundamentals, strategy, tactics, and game principles
- Create a positive, welcoming, and supportive classroom environment
- Keep students engaged and encourage participation
- Help students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills through chess
- Manage classroom activities and student behavior appropriately
- Encourage good sportsmanship and respectful behavior
- Follow school policies and student-safety procedures
- Travel to assigned schools as needed
- Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to teach
Qualifications
- Previous teaching experience is preferred, particularly experience working with children. Teaching experience does not need to be specifically in chess.
- Strong understanding of chess fundamentals
- Chess coaching or instruction experience is a plus
- Ability to explain concepts clearly and work with students of different skill levels
- Positive, patient, and engaging personality
- Enjoy working with children and creating a fun learning environment
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Comfortable leading a class independently
- Strong communication and classroom-management skills
- Availability on weekday afternoons
- Reliable transportation to assigned schools
- Commitment to following school safety policies and procedures
Schedule
Classes are held primarily on weekday afternoons, with start times generally between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
Coaches typically teach 1–7 classes per week, depending on their availability and the number of programs offered at local schools.
Compensation
Pay: Based on experience

Four Knights Chess Academy provides after-school chess and math programs in private and public schools throughout Massachusetts.
Our goal is to make chess enjoyable and accessible while helping students build important skills such as critical thinking, concentration, problem-solving, creativity, and decision-making.
Pay: $50.00 - $100.00 per hour
