A Home Inspector is not a construction worker; they are a property detective. This role requires a unique blend of physical agility and sharp mental focus. You aren't there to build or fix—you are there to observe, evaluate, and document.
As an Entry-Level Home Inspector, you are the eyes and ears for homebuyers making the biggest investment of their lives. You will spend your day systematically deconstructing a house through observation, looking for the small details that others miss.
Responsibilities
- We aren't looking for a construction worker; we are looking for a Property Detective.To succeed in this role, you must possess:
- Detail-Obsessed: You are the person who notices a crooked tile, a hairline crack, or a flickering light when no one else does.
- Focused & Disciplined: You can stay on task in a fast-paced environment without cutting corners. You understand that "good enough" doesn't exist in home safety.
- Physically Capable: You are comfortable with heights (roofs) and confined spaces (attics/crawlspaces). You can handle the bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing required for a 2-3 hour rigorous inspection.
- Inquisitive: You have a natural "how does this work?" mindset and a genuine passion for understanding the "why" behind property defects.
- Reliable & Punctual: You understand that punctuality and consistency are the backbone of the real estate industry. If you are late, the whole deal is delayed.
The Professional Path: Training & Licensure
This position is a professional residency. Your success is tied to your ability to master technical material on a deadline:
- InterNACHI Training: You will be required to complete a rigorous series of InterNACHI modules on a strict, pre-determined schedule.
- 30-60-90 Day Evaluations: We will formally evaluate your progress every 30 days. We look for technical retention, coursework completion, and field application.
- Licensure: Your ultimate goal is dual-certification. You will be expected to study for and successfully pass both the National Home Inspector Examination (NHIE) and the State Licensing Exam. --
Experience
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Tech Skills: Must own a smartphone and have the ability to operate it/learn new apps quickly (this is where 100% of your work is performed).
- Physical Stamina: Comfort with heights (climbing ladders/walking roofs) and confined spaces (crawling in attics or crawlspaces). Must be able to handle bending, kneeling, and climbing for 2-3 hours at a time.
- Logistics: Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
- Trust & Security: Must be willing to submit to a comprehensive background check and a random drug screening policy.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
