Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, refrigeration units, boilers, plumbing, and other mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot complex issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters to identify root causes of system failures.
- Repair or replace faulty components including compressors, motors, valves, pumps, and electrical wiring while adhering to safety standards.
- Conduct HVAC system design modifications or upgrades as needed to improve efficiency or meet new specifications.
- Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs performed, parts used, and system performance logs for compliance and future reference.
- Operate specialized tools such as welding equipment or ammonia refrigeration systems with precision and safety awareness.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks including appliance repair, welding repairs, plumbing fixes, and general mechanical support across various facilities.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HVAC service technician with a solid understanding of HVAC/R (refrigeration) systems and mechanical principles.
- Hands-on experience in construction environments or field service roles involving equipment repair and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing systems, refrigeration cycles (including ammonia refrigeration), and boiler operation.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics accurately; familiarity with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters is essential.
- Mechanical aptitude complemented by welding skills and experience working with diverse tools and machinery.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating
drivers preferred for transportation needs. - Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently under pressure.
