Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Safely load, unload, and transport sheet metal materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes.
- Stage and set up materials for Laser and Slitter operations daily.
- Conduct bin audits to ensure all materials (stock, customer-owned, and prefab staging) are in the correct locations with accurate and visible labels100% accuracy required daily.
- Provide accurate cycle counts within two hours of request to Office Administration.
- Ensure fabricators are fed material from the prefab staging area at 90% to maintain production efficiency.
- Verify all prefinished material deliveries are weighed or counted, photographed, labeled correctly, and packing slips are submitted to the office.
- Ensure all AMW stock material is weighed or counted, photographed, placed in the correct bin, and packing slips are turned in to the office.
- Maintain and update the Coil List
- Oversee yard team members, ensuring adherence to procedures including Paperwork remains with product until fully processed. Packaging guidelines are followed. Proper documentation is provided for all processed orders.
- Prepare for full inventory count by end of day, 48 hours prior to scheduled inventory day.
- Move completed product from fabrication to shipping as needed
- Utilize crop material when possible (e.g., cleats, remakes, small orders) based on Production Manager review.
- Ensure all crop material produced is handled and stored by end of day.
- Coordinate transfers for completed product, new material, coil transfers, and supplies, following proper procedures.
- Collaborate closely with Shipping & Receiving to align yard operations and logistics.
- Other duties as assigned.
Safety Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines at all times.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, cranes) only if trained and certified.
- Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and emergency drills.
- Maintain awareness of surroundings and practice safe lifting and handling techniques.
- Ensure walkways and work areas are free of hazards and obstructions.
- Promote a culture of safety by encouraging safe behaviors and reporting unsafe practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 12 years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.
- Experience with inventory control systems and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and material specifications.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and communication.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
Work Environment
- Exposure to noise, dust, sharp edges, and varying temperatures typical of a fabrication shop.
- Requires use of safety equipment and adherence to strict safety protocols.
Salary : $18 - $25
