Project Estimator & Business Development

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Estimator & Business Development professional to join our team in the commercial construction industry. This dual-role position requires a strategic thinker with strong estimating skills and a proactive approach to client acquisition. The successful candidate will be responsible for going out and seeking clients as well as preparing accurate project estimates, reading blueprints, managing material cost calculations, and developing new business opportunities through effective client outreach and relationship building. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of our company by securing new projects and fostering long-term client partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Meeting new clients.
• Present Sales Pitch to secure the closing of new business,
• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for commercial construction projects, including material costs and project budgets.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents to ensure precise cost estimation.
• Utilize Microsoft Office tools, especially spreadsheets, to organize data, analyze costs, and develop comprehensive proposals.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand project requirements, present estimates, and negotiate terms.
• Seek out new clients and identify potential commercial construction opportunities through strategic outreach efforts.
• Develop and implement sales strategies to attract new business and expand existing client relationships.
• Close sales by effectively presenting proposals, addressing client concerns, and securing commitments for upcoming projects.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure estimates align with project scope and company standards.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction estimation and project budgeting.
• Proven experience in estimating for commercial construction projects with a strong understanding of blueprint reading.
• Demonstrated success in business development within the construction industry, including client outreach and sales closing skills.
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel spreadsheets for data analysis and cost management.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction, negotiation, and relationship building.
• Ability to strategize effectively for new sales opportunities and develop long-term business growth plans.
• Knowledge of material cost estimating processes and overall construction project budgeting practices.
• A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams to meet project goals.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
