Certified salary is based upon degree status and years of experience. Horizontal advancements are based upon "Graduate" level credits and staff development hours obtained after the last degree was conferred.
Salary Schedule
One year of credit will be provided for each year of approved outside teaching experience up to a maximum of sixteen (16) years (earned within the past 16 years).

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- A valid Colorado Teaching Certificate endorsed in area of assignment.
- Must be Highly Qualified by CDE's standards in Special Education.
- Endorsed in Special Education
- OR -
- PLACE Special Education Generalist exam
- Endorsement must be Special Education
- Applicants with a BA (or higher - in ANY area) AND who are in (or willing to be in) and a Special Education program are eligible to apply
- Can be enrolled in a TEE or Alternative Licensure program
- Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate.
