Matchday Operations Assistant

Fountain City Athletic is seeking a motivated and energetic Matchday Operations Assistant to support the execution of home matches and club events throughout the season. This position provides hands-on experience in sports operations, event management, fan engagement, and live event logistics within a fast-paced soccer environment.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, passionate about sports, and excited to contribute to a growing organization.

This is a seasonal, hybrid internship role based in Kansas City, Missouri, with on-site responsibilities required during matchdays and club events.

• Assist with matchday setup and stadium preparation
• Support ticketing and fan entry operations
• Help coordinate sponsor activations and promotional activities
• Assist with merchandise setup and sales support
• Support fan engagement initiatives and supporter experience
• Assist with operational logistics before, during, and after events
• Work alongside club staff, volunteers, and vendors to ensure smooth event execution
• Help maintain a professional, safe, and welcoming environment for attendees

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Reliable and able to adapt to changing matchday needs
• Passion for soccer, sports, and live events
• Availability during evenings, weekends, and matchdays
• Prior experience in sports, customer service, hospitality, or event operations is a plus
• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Sports Management, Business, Communications, or a related field is preferred but not required

• Hands-on experience in live sports and event operations

This internship may be eligible for college credit depending on your educational institution’s requirements. Flexible scheduling is available around matchdays and club events.
