HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST
The Human Resources Generalist will report directly to the Director of Human Resources. This role requires a highly motivated individual with experience and passion for employee relations, driving culture, and strong skills in collaboration, organizational development, and communication. The Human Resources Generalist will work with the HR Director to execute, implement, and report on HR initiatives across the company. This individual will work within a small team that thrives in a fast, innovative environment driven by results and constant learning.

WHAT OUR HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST DOES:
- Handles initial employee relations issues and advises on resolution
- Conducts thorough and fair investigations as needed
- Collaborates with the Benefits team to ensure that an effective strategy is developed and executed to communicate open enrollment
- Assists in updating the company handbook, ensuring all new state and federal requirements are communicated to the field
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Partners with the Recruiting team to ensure that the company recruiting strategy is executed effectively and offers support when needed
- Attends job fairs as a brand ambassador when needed
- Collaborates and advises the health and safety team to develop and launch an effective workplace safety strategy and committee
- Assists with annual employee survey development and analyzes results while partnering with the HR team to develop strategies to address feedback and deliver data
- Participates in the company’s Council on Culture committee and collaborates with the council to ensure an effective DEI strategy is maintained and initiatives are met
- Develops and produces HR-related reporting as needed and works with the finance team to ensure accurate data is being produced and delivered
- Assists with company culture initiatives such as the anniversary program, gatherings, and employee events
- Performs other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE A HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Psychology, or equivalent experience
- 1 years of professional experience in an HR Generalist role
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hospitality, or retail environment strongly preferred
- Possesses knowledge and experience in the tenets of traditional human resources practices
- Demonstrated experience in building relationships and partnerships with operational teams
- SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
- Maintains excellent writing and language skills
- Exceptional attention to detail with a proven ability to follow through accurately and thoroughly
- Tech-savvy and comfortable picking up new tools; working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- A team player with the confidence to take the lead and maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
- Stays up-to-date on emerging trends in HR and state/federal compliance
- Passionate about people and excited about the role HR plays in building a great workplace
- Interested in all facets of Human Resources, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and culture
- Graceful under pressure with the ability to stay composed and professional in tense or sensitive situations
- A strong and attentive listener who makes employees feel heard and respected
- Able to travel to restaurant locations in DC, MD, VA, and PA as needed
- Exceptional time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
