Behind the scenes, we manage multiple legal entities, a venture fund, and a growing internal team—all of which require sharp, steady operational support. We're hiring a Head of Biz Ops and Finance to help power our next phase of growth.
About the Role
This role is for someone with strong financial, legal, and operational instincts who wants to take meaningful ownership in how a venture-backed organization runs. You'll take over many of the day to day tasks from the COO to manage financial operations, lead internal reporting, support legal and HR processes, and improve the systems that keep the business moving.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Finance & Operating Model
- Partner with leadership to build and refine our operating model across multiple entities
- Identify and track key performance metrics, build dashboards, and surface insights
- Lead a monthly reporting cadence: dig into the P&L, investigate anomalies, and walk leadership through reports
- Help align operating expenses with fund strategy, giving visibility into how spend affects fund pacing, margins, and capacity
Fund Ops & Special Projects
- Assist with fund operations, including capital call tracking and LP coordination
- Support leadership in modeling changes fund dynamics and structure
- Lead transitions to new fund structures and operating platforms that enable growth
- Improve internal systems and workflows across legal, finance, and HR
- Lead or support special projects such as internal expansion, process redesign, or vendor transitions
Finance, Accounting & Payroll
- Ensure books are accurate and clean by reviewing monthly entries and coordinating with external bookkeepers
- Coordinate with tax accountants and oversee annual and quarterly tax processes
- Identify areas to tighten budgets, reduce costs, and improve forecasting accuracy
- Manage payroll systems: ensure automated payrolls run correctly, monitor for errors, and verify accounts are funded
- Assist with employment contracts and payroll documentation when onboarding new team members
Legal & Compliance
- Support key legal workflows, including:
- IP and asset sales or purchases
- Entity formation and maintenance
- Drafting and distributing equity agreements
- Maintain internal compliance calendars and coordinate with outside counsel as needed
Who You Are
- 5 years of experience in startup business operations, finance, FP&A, or legal ops
- Highly proficient with Excel/Google Sheets; you enjoy building models and bringing clarity to complexity
- Comfortable reviewing P&Ls, overseeing payroll, and coordinating with bookkeepers and tax pros
- Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable with a strong sense of ownership
- Familiar with early-stage companies, startup legal structures, and multi-entity operations
