Staff Accountant/Marina Accountant
Job Summary: This role is responsible for providing direct financial management for the assigned portfolio of marinas and clients.
Responsibilities include:
- Monthly accounting close, balance sheet schedules, reconciliations, and prepare timely and accurate financial/operating report packages for the assigned mixed portfolio
- Work closely with General Managers, Accountants, clients and corporate personnel to provide top quality customer service, budgets, year-end reconciliations and financial reports
- Cash management functions including bank reconciliations, bank transfers, owner distributions/cash sweeps, and payment processing
- Utility and tenant bill backs
- Sales and use tax returns
- Work with auditors and tax accountants to ensure quality year-end financial statements
- Work with General Managers, Accountants, clients and corporate personnel to provide top quality customer service, budgets, year-end reconciliations and financial reports
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 2 years related experience or an Associate’s Degree in Accounting and 4 years related experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in the Microsoft Suite of products.
- Extremely organized, strong multi-tasking and proven time management skills
- Working knowledge of Quickbooks preferred
