What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Records/Receptionist position at FOUNDATIONS HEALTH SOLUTIONS?
RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAJOR DUTIES:
1. Assure that all medical record information is protected and kept confidential.
2. Protect all medical record information from loss, defacing or destruction before retention period
ends.
3. File medical records accurately.
4. Retrieve medical records promptly upon request by authorized individuals and agencies.
5. Identify late and incomplete documentation and report to individuals responsible for
completion.
6. Identify inaccurate documentation and report to individuals responsible for accuracy and
documentation.
7. Mail forms to physicians, for completion, to the extent permitted by regulations.
8. Maintain an accurate resident census report and distribute to designated individuals.
9. Maintain a discharge analysis and disease index as required.
10. Complete all information in master resident index file.
11. Notify Administrator of all requests for information from medical records.
12. Answer correspondence regarding release of information from medical records.
13. Prepare records in answer to subpoenas.
14. Assist the Administrator and Director of Nursing service to coordinate all required committee
and meeting functions.
15. Record, type and file minutes for all committee meetings as assigned.
16. Ensure Medicare residents have timely certification/re-certification forms signed by the
attending physician.
17. Enter data into the computer timely, accurately and completely.
18. Print forms and reports from the computer program as required.
19. Assist with quality assessment and assurance studies.
20. Observe infection control procedures.
21. Follow Residents’ Rights policies at all times.
22. Adhere to all facility policies & procedures and ensure they are adhered to by all responsible
parties and carry out disciplinary action for non-compliance as appropriate.
23. Ensure adherence to the Corporate Integrity Program and the Performance Expectations at all
times.
24. Perform other related duties as directed by direct supervisor and/or person of authority
