Overview
Foundations Community Childcare is seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director to lead and oversee the organization’s operations, strategic initiatives, and community engagement efforts. The Executive Director will serve as the primary representative of the organization, ensuring its non-profit mission is fulfilled through effective management and innovative programming.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the organization, aligning programs with organizational goals and community needs
- Maintain the properties of the Corporation and the Center’s facility and grounds
- Manage all aspects of human resources which includes but is not limited to: hire, evaluate, discipline, and terminate as needed; write job descriptions, perform training for effective and efficient Center operations; schedule staff and manage paid time off (PTO); lead regular staff meetings; provide access to professional development; all while ensuring compensation and benefits are within the payroll budget approved by the Board of Directors
- Implement, maintain, and update policy and procedure manuals as needed for the administration of the Center
- Review and revise the handbook for children and families enrolled in the Center annually
- Maintain licensing requirements as needed to operate the Center, such as ODE, ODJFS, Ohio Department of Children and Youth Step Up to Quality Licensure requirements, and following all Ohio State SUTQ guidelines as well as all other Ohio State licensing regulations
- Train and instruct staff, caregivers, workers, volunteers and leaders of all age groups of children at the Center.
- Oversee policies and procedures that promote the holistic development and wellbeing of children including managing communicable diseases, promoting healthy eating, appropriate physical activity, and supporting mental health and emotional wellness.
- Responsible for compliance regulations and being knowledgeable about diversity resources and services
- Manage Financial Assistant on all aspects of financial management for the Center including budget, income and expenses, as well as all financial records in accordance of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Oversee crisis management procedures of fire safety, CPR, and lifesaving procedures for staff and children
- Responsible for the development and oversight of services and programs available to children. Be responsible for the oversight of daily activities, curriculum, and lesson plans. Assess their effectiveness in consultation with staff
- Responsible for staff files, children and family files, and all records in a confidential manner
- Manage recruitment and enrollment of children at the childcare center
- Prepare appropriate reports and attend all regularly scheduled monthly Board meetings
Qualifications
- At minimum, an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, with a Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited institution preferred, or a Bachelor’s Degree in another field with ample experience in working with children and families
- Experience and knowledge of early learning programs and developmentally appropriate practices
- Possess strong organizational skills, leadership capabilities, working knowledge of technology, and basic financial management skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to foster trust with children, families, and staff members
- Ability to complete and pass a background check, maintain necessary immunizations, complete specific training required by ODJFS and the state of Ohio

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
