Student Intern, Communications and Marketing Services 100% Remote in California; Must be currently enrolled in a California Community College We are seeking a Communications Intern to join the Foundation in its mission of benefitting, supporting, and enhancing the California Community Colleges—the largest and most diverse system of higher education in the nation. What You’ll Do The Communications Intern is a part-time, paid position that will play a vital role in amplifying our organization's impact by assisting the Communication and Marketing Services Team in crafting compelling narratives, engaging with our social media audience, and collaborating to ensure consistent brand representation. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of communications, marketing, and design within a fast-paced non-profit environment. Duration: 10-week summer internship program from June 1 - August 7, 2026. Exact start and end dates are flexible based on academic schedules. Compensation: This is a paid internship at $20/hour, 10-15 hours per week Content Strategy and Planning: Assist in developing a communications plan for upcoming campaigns. Content Creation: Support the Communications team in creating engaging and informative content for various platforms, including social media, event invitations, reports, newsletters, and more. Social Media Communications: Assist with facilitating our organization's social media calendar, including scheduling posts and engaging with our social media audience. Help create content for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms. Media Relations: Provide support in drafting, editing, and distributing press releases under the guidance of the Communications team. Email Communications: Assist with the layout of internal and external communications utilizing our email marketing service provider. Research: Conduct research on industry trends, best practices, and current events to help inform decision-making. Events: Assist in planning and executing special events by providing support with tasks such as invitation design, and/or vendor communications. Other Duties: Provide administrative support and assist with special projects as assigned by the Communications team. Attributes for Success Presently enrolled in a California community college, pursuing an associate's degree or certificate in Communications, Marketing, or a related field of Journalism.
