What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Integration Developer position at Foundational e-Business?
Build the future of B2B integration with a team that's been doing it right for 25 years.
Foundational e-Business Services is the managed integration partner that mid-market manufacturers, distributors, and industrial companies trust to connect with their trading partners. We're growing our development team and investing in a modern, Python-centered platform—and we want you to help build it.
The Role
This is a Python and API-focused development role. You'll build the integrations that move purchase orders, invoices, shipments, and other business-critical documents between our clients and their partners. The data shows up in many formats—JSON, XML, EDI, flat files—but what matters most is that you understand the business behind it.
You don't need to know every integration acronym on day one. If you write clean Python, you're comfortable with APIs, and you understand how businesses actually exchange documents, we want to talk.
You'll bring
· Strong Python skills and clean, maintainable coding habits
· Experience designing and consuming APIs (REST/JSON; XML a plus)
· A solid grasp of business documents and workflows—POs, invoices, shipments, and the like
· Strong problem-solving and direct client communication
· Comfort in a small, collaborative, independent team
Nice to have: EDI (X12/EDIFACT), metals/manufacturing/distribution industry experience, IBM i (RPG/CL), PHP, file-transfer tools (AS2, SFTP, PGP)
What we offer
· $85,000–$120,000, based on experience
· Employer-paid employee healthcare
· Retirement plan with employer matching
· Remote flexibility with optional hybrid at our PA/MD offices
· Real ownership on a seasoned team investing in modern tech
Salary : $85,000 - $120,000
