Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Receptionist role in our Lawrence, KS office. The Receptionist will be the first point of contact for patients, greeting visitors, answering phones, and providing a warm, professional front-desk experience. Daily responsibilities include managing check-in and check-out, scheduling and confirming appointments, verifying patient information, and handling basic billing or insurance documentation as directed. The role also includes performing clerical tasks such as filing, scanning, data entry, maintaining an organized reception area, and managing incoming mail or deliveries. The Receptionist will collaborate closely with clinical staff to support smooth patient flow, protect patient confidentiality, and maintain a welcoming, respectful environment for all.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally, clearly, and empathetically with patients, caregivers, and staff.
- Proficiency in phone etiquette and receptionist duties, including answering and routing calls, taking accurate messages, and greeting visitors in person.
- Clerical skills such as scheduling, data entry, filing, and use of basic office equipment and software (e.g., email, microsoft word, excell, electronic scheduling systems).
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy clinical environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, demonstrate cultural sensitivity, and handle sensitive health topics with discretion and professionalism.
- Prior experience in a medical, therapy, or healthcare front desk setting is preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in office administration or healthcare administration is a plus.
