Duties
- Assist with the preparation of concrete forms, rebar installation, and setting up formwork according to project specifications.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment such as concrete mixers, pumps, and cutting tools safely and effectively.
- Pour concrete into forms, ensuring proper placement and compaction for a smooth finish.
- Perform finishing tasks including troweling, smoothing, and texturing concrete surfaces to meet quality standards.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans to execute tasks accurately.
- Follow all safety protocols related to construction workplace safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Support other team members with tasks such as heavy lifting, material handling, and site cleanup to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to construction tools and equipment operation.
- Experience reading blueprints and interpreting technical drawings for accurate project execution.
- Knowledge of concrete forming, pouring, finishing, cutting, and stucco application techniques.
- Familiarity with rebar installation, metal stud framing, flooring installation, and caulking for comprehensive construction support.
- Ability to operate power tools safely while adhering to construction safety regulations.
- Skilled in using hand tools for detailed finishing work like plastering or smoothing concrete surfaces.
- Proven experience working on construction projects with a focus on heavy lifting and heavy equipment operation.
- Understanding of construction estimating basics for material needs and project timelines.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions from blueprints or specifications while maintaining high safety standards.
