Overview
The Teen Head Counselor position is responsible for creating a safe, positive, and recreational Clubhouse for youth ages 12-18. Directly managing the day-to-day operations and both members' and parents' experiences. This individual will be directing part-time staff through training and development to lead staff to deliver quality and safe programs.
Duties
- Lead and implement daily operations for the Boys & Girls Club, within the organization's vision and mission.
- Contribute to the hiring, training, and supervising of staff, following company policy and procedures.
- Attend required trainings and provide staff with updated procedures.
- Contribute to member/staff ratio when needed and required (ie- power hour, programming, etc)
- Manage staff’s development and interaction with members/others.
- Manage staff payroll and data
- Plan, maintain, and program tracking with BGC administration.
- Grant Requirements- tracking attendance and other data metrics.
- Assist in the upkeep of members’ files
- Monthly teen events planned out
- Create inviting and exciting activities for teens during ASP and Summer, including field trips
- Maintain safety and accountability in line with FFY policy and procedures.
- Manage members within groupings
- Communicate with members’ families regarding member information.
- Providing a safe and inviting environment that enriches all members.
- Assemble and manage a staffing schedule for care
- Request availability from staff members in advance.
- Create a schedule that assures that we are able to meet ratios the entire time that the club is open.
- Maintain staff schedule.
Requirements
Communication Skills: Ability to speak relative to a child’s development level and to speak calmly and relationally with children ages 5-18. As well as parents of the children through sometimes difficult situations or conversations. Staff of all backgrounds and levels of experience must be effectively trained and communicated with.
Education and Experience: One to two years of related experience and/or training, including management and youth development. Must pass a criminal background check. CPR/First Aid/Universal precautions certified, Trauma-informed care and Child and Youth Care Credential. Must have or be willing to obtain.
Technical Skills: The ability to facilitate a team of diverse staff. Program planning and development. Leading difficult conversations with people of all ages, staff, parents, and children aged 5-18. Ability to effectively communicate to the public, parents, administration, and peers.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
