Position Summary
The Marketing & Communications Manager plays a critical role in shaping and amplifying Foundation for Women Warriors' voice across all channels. This role ensures brand consistency, drives day-to-day content execution, and leads storytelling that elevates FFWW's mission. The Manager supervises the Communications and Social Media Coordinators, owns the quality of all outgoing communications, and serves as the primary brand steward maintaining the organization's high standards across every channel and audience.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer and editor, organized, metrics-aware, and comfortable leading communications in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. They bring both the creative range to craft a compelling impact story and the operational discipline to keep an editorial calendar on track and yes, an occasional willingness to drop everything and make a meme.
Key Responsibilities
Content Development & Social Media
- Develop, write, schedule, and publish engaging content across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging channels maintaining a consistent posting schedule aligned with the editorial calendar.
- Supervise and direct scheduling and publishing workflow, providing editorial guidance and approval before content goes live.
- Actively monitor and respond to audience messages, comments, and community engagement opportunities across platforms.
- Craft compelling, audience-specific copy tailored to mission-driven stakeholders: donors, corporate partners, veterans, and community supporters.
- Collaborate with program and development teams to highlight initiatives, events, partnerships, and impact stories through strategic digital content.
- Contribute to creative concepting for campaigns including video scripts, digital campaigns, and timely social moments.
Print & Digital Collateral
- Develop, update, and maintain organizational collateral including flyers, one-pagers, brochures, event materials, impact reports, and annual reports.
- Create visually engaging, branded marketing assets using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent platforms ensuring consistency with FFWW brand standards.
- Assist in the development of professional presentations and slide decks for donor engagement, corporate partnerships, events, and community outreach.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure all marketing materials accurately reflect organizational messaging, programs, and impact.
Communications, Storytelling & Donor Engagement
- Develop, edit, and distribute monthly newsletters, blog posts, and email campaigns designed to engage donors, partners, supporters, and the veteran community.
- Support storytelling for fundraising campaigns, sponsorship initiatives, and community partnerships through compelling written and digital content.
- Ensure all communications consistently reflect FFWW's voice, mission, values, and strategic messaging with particular attention to language that empowers our community.
- Review, edit, and proofread all communication materials for clarity, accuracy, tone, grammar, and brand alignment before publication or distribution.
Marketing Metrics & Performance
- Track, analyze, and report on performance across channels: email open and click rates, social engagement, follower growth, campaign reach, and content performance.
- Produce a monthly marketing metrics summary - translating data into clear, actionable insights.
- Use analytics to inform content decisions: adjust timing, format, platform emphasis, and messaging based on what the data shows.
- Maintain familiarity with platform-native analytics (Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube) as well as email platform reporting (Mailchimp or equivalent).
- Support tracking of campaign effectiveness tied to fundraising and program enrollment outcomes where applicable.
Brand Management & Content Organization
- Maintain brand consistency across all communication channels, materials, and platforms to ensure a cohesive organizational presence.
- Uphold editorial standards, messaging tone, language guidelines, and visual identity across internal and external communications serving as the final quality check before assets go public.
- Organize and maintain content libraries, digital asset repositories, templates, and brand resources for streamlined team access.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of materials to ensure alignment with FFWW branding, formatting, and communication standards.
Campaigns, Events & Community Engagement
- Lead content development and promotion for FFWW campaigns and events including holiday drives, fundraising initiatives, 5Ks, anniversary milestones, and community outreach activities.
- Develop and coordinate pre-event, live-event, and post-event messaging, collateral, and digital content to maximize reach and engagement.
- Ensure event photos, testimonials, quotes, and multimedia content are captured, organized, and archived for future marketing, storytelling, and reporting use.
- Collaborate with team members and partners to ensure all event communications align with FFWW branding, mission, and audience goals.
Qualifications
Required
- 7 years of experience in marketing, communications, journalism, or nonprofit storytelling.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone, voice, and format for varied audiences donors, partners, veterans, and the general public.
- Experience managing social media channels for an organization or brand, including content strategy, community engagement, and scheduling.
- Proficiency in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite; comfort producing polished branded materials independently.
- Demonstrated ability to track and report on marketing performance metrics; comfort working with platform analytics and email reporting tools.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience reviewing, editing, and approving content produced by others with a sharp editorial eye for quality, accuracy, and brand alignment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a lean mission-driven team.
Preferred
- Knowledge of the veteran, military, or nonprofit sector.
- Experience supervising or directing the work of marketing staff or contractors.
- Video scripting, basic editing, or short-form video content creation (Reels/TikTok) experience.
- Experience with Mailchimp or similar email marketing platforms.

Salary : $75,000 - $95,000
