What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant & Assistant Office Manager position at Foundation for Life - Northwest Ohio?
Do you desire to serve in the pro-life movement? Foundation for Life, a dynamic Christian, pro-life organization that is changing hearts and minds right here in Northwest Ohio, is seeking a new team member. The position is primarily responsible for all accounting-related matters and office administration. Extensive experience with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software is essential. Attention to detail with strong administrative skills is vital. Experience in database management software is beneficial.
This is ideally a full-time position, but for the right candidate, we would consider a flexible schedule.
Essential Skill Sets:
A solid proficiency in QuickBooks (or comparable accounting software) is essential, including:
- Monthly bank reconciliation
- Preparing monthly financial statements
- Weekly bank deposits
- Allocation of company credit card expenses monthly
- Maintain a schedule of recurring payments and pay bills as needed
- Make all necessary journal entries as needed
- Periodic petty cash reconciliations
- Annual filings with the Attorney General's and Secretary of State’s offices
- Annual government filings (not formal tax returns)
- Maintain and prepare annual miscellaneous 1099’s
A solid proficiency in the Microsoft Office 365 suite is essential, including:
- Word
- Excel Spreadsheet
- PowerPoint
- Publisher
- Outlook
Other Desired Skill Sets:
Database management software experience is very important.
- Maintain and update database management record-keeping systems, including donor records and reports.
- Prepare acknowledgement letters to donors
- Generate donor reports and mailing lists as needed
Other Valuable but Not Essential Skills:
- Grant writing or funding proposals experience would be a bonus.
Other Activities:
- Special event support
- Assist other team members in various duties as needed
