The Employment Partnerships Specialist leads employer engagement efforts to expand competitive, integrated employment opportunities for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. This role builds and maintains employer partnerships, educates businesses on inclusive hiring practices, and supports clients in achieving successful employment outcomes through career exploration, job readiness, placement, and retention. This is a highly visible, community-facing role that serves as a resource to employers and collaborates with clients, staff, and community partners to strengthen pathways to employment.

 

Job Duties include: 

Employer Partnerships & Community Engagement 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers, workforce partners, and community organizations. 
  • Conduct outreach to identify job opportunities, internships, and work-based learning experiences. 
  • Educate employers on vision loss, workplace accommodations, assistive technology, and inclusive hiring practices. 
  • Coordinate employer tours, job shadows, networking events, and hiring activities 
  • Serve as a primary liaison and trusted resource for employers. 
  • Represent Foundation for Blind Children at workforce meetings, job fairs, and community events. 

 

Employer Education & Workforce Development 

  • Provide training and consultation on accessibility, accommodations, and job retention strategies. 
  • Address misconceptions and reduce barriers to hiring individuals with disabilities through meaningful employer trainings. 
  • Identify labor market trends and high-demand industries across Arizona. 
  • Engage with workforce boards, community initiatives, and industry partnerships. 
  • Develop and execute employment-focused training programs and initiatives. 

 

Client Services & Employment Support 

  • Provide comprehensive employment services, including career exploration, job readiness, and job placement, while coaching clients through all stages of the employment process—from application to retention. 
  • Collaborate with program staff, Vocational Rehabilitation counselors, and community partners to achieve employment outcomes. 
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with program and contractual requirements. 

 

Program Development & Outcomes 

  • Track employment outcomes and employer engagement activities. 
  • Identify trends, barriers, and opportunities to improve employment outcomes. 
  • Contribute to program growth and development of new employment initiatives. 
  • Strengthen employer networks to expand opportunities for clients. 
Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation, Human Services, Business, Education, or related field 
  • Minimum three years of experience in employment services, workforce development, or employer engagement 
  • Minimum two years of experience supporting individuals with disabilities in employment-related services 
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and documentation systems 
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed 

 

Preferred

  • Experience working with individuals who are blind, visually impaired, or DeafBlind 
  • Knowledge of Vocational Rehabilitation (RSA) programs and requirements 
  • Experience with employer outreach and partnership development 
  • Knowledge of accessibility, workplace accommodations, and assistive technology 
  • Established connections within workforce or community networks 

Salary : $65,000 - $68,000
