Decision Science Data Analyst II Duties
The Decision Science Data Analyst II will help drive profitable growth by leveraging data, identifying solutions to problems, and maintaining and improving decision models. This is a hands-on role requiring technical skills to query and manipulate data to develop data-driven models and recommendations. The analyst will have a wide range of exposure to loan originations and servicing areas in consumer lending while focusing on supporting underwriting operations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain data and file integrity. Improve existing data query scripts and develop new ones as needed.
- Work with staff, managers and executives on analytic projects and develop data-driven solutions.
- Create monitoring programs and reports to assist in the maintenance and oversight of underwriting operations.
- Apply historic underwriting and performance data to develop, improve and maintain statistical models.
- Scrutinize model outputs to advance underwriting policy and make profit optimization recommendations.
- Maintain knowledge of current underwriting policies and procedures.
- Present reports, findings and recommendations to senior management to improve business strategies and practices.
- Other duties as assigned by management. Must be able to come to work promptly and regularly. Must be able to take direction and work well with others. Must be able to work under the stress of deadlines. Must be able to concentrate and perform accurately. Must be able to react to change productively.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related field.
- One to two years of data analytics experience required.
- Experience in finance or banking industries preferred. Statistical knowledge to develop predictive models using regression, CHAID and other algorithms. Experience using R, SQL, and Python preferred.
- Hands-on familiarity with SQL data querying, coding experience and understanding of basic coding syntax.
- Advanced Excel skills to create/edit pivot tables, understand/create/manipulate database formulas, create/modify macros (VBA knowledge preferred), adjust formatting to create professional reports.
- Advanced data visualization skills, preferably with Tableau.
