The Continuous Improvement Engineer will identify improvement initiatives and projects, working with various departments to design, develop, implement and sustain data-driven change and solutions, improving performance and efficiency while reducing waste, ensuring compliance, meeting stakeholder and business needs. This role requires highly independent work with minimal supervision.
Local Candidate preferred, Wausau, WI
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Identify potential targets for continuous improvement projects, organize, facilitate and execute effective Gemba Walks and other observations of subject matter experts for the continuous improvement team and departmental leadership.
- Understand, apply and execute Lean-based strategies, methods and improvements to assigned projects and daily work.
- Efficiently produce accurate and effective work products and documents that fit stakeholder and business requirements including but not limited to process maps of current and future process states, project charters, business cases, and reports for internal publication.
- Manage all levels of CI projects, including full DMAIC level projects, mitigate scope-creep, understand and apply Root Cause Analytics, Data Analytics and Visualizations to business processes.
- Monitor process performance and improvements in key metrics.
- Actively participate in the development of a “CI-culture” at Foundation Finance Company.
- Present on and discuss tools, DMAIC methodology and other CI-based terms and techniques intelligently with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Provide education, training and support on CI processes and tools to team members, stakeholders, FFC personnel, and the business.
- Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- Three or more years of process improvement experience using process improvement methodology OR combination of education and experience. Experience in operations monitoring and/or finance sector preferred.
Project-Certified Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma, or proven equivalent experience
AGILE certification is preferred.
- Understanding of basic programming concepts, SQL, and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a minimum of intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office suite of products (Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet browsers such as Google Chrome.
- Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
