HAAM Eligibility Specialist

Position Description: The Foundation Communities’ Health Coverage Program is hiring a team of HAAM Eligibility Specialists to work with local musicians who are members of the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM). HAAM provides access to affordable healthcare for Austin musicians, and this seasonal position offers a wonderful opportunity to help Austin musicians access healthcare.  HAAM Eligibility Specialists will be expected to work from home and the program will provide necessary training and equipment. Although this position is remote, applicants will need to attend one day of training in-person in Austin, Texas.  The timeline for this position is September to December 2023, but there is an opportunity to transition to a part-time or full-time seasonal position on our tax team from January to April 2024 for those who are interested. 

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide superior customer service to HAAM members by phone and virtually  
• Provide efficient and accurate intake and enrollment assistance  
• Maintain accurate knowledge about Marketplace health insurance and HAAM services (training provided) 
• Participate in data entry and phone consultations 
• Protect confidential consumer information 
• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience with tax preparation, health insurance, or public assistance programs  
• Bilingual in Spanish 

Compensation:

$19.00/hour

*Although this is a remote position, we will be conducting onsite interviews*
