Facilities Custodian

Position Description:

The Facilities Custodian ensures that Foundation Communities’ Mission Plaza building is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. This position is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all restrooms, offices, cubicles, break rooms, and common areas across all four floors of the building. The Facilities Custodian will work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating reliability, attention to detail, and pride in maintaining a professional and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

Cleaning & Sanitation
 • Clean and disinfect all restrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and floors.
 • Empty trash and recycling bins in all offices, cubicles, break rooms, and meeting spaces.
 • Vacuum, mop, and sweep floors throughout the building.
 • Clean and sanitize break rooms and kitchen areas, including appliances, counters, and tables.
 • Dust and wipe down desks, surfaces, window ledges, and furniture as needed.
 • Refill restroom supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.).
 • Clean interior glass, doors, and fixtures as needed.

Building Care & Safety
 • Report maintenance or repair needs (e.g., leaks, broken fixtures) to the Commercial Property and Safety Manager

• Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning supplies and equipment.
 • Follow safety and security procedures at all times, including locking doors, turning off lights, and setting alarms after cleaning.
 • Maintain cleaning logs and supply inventory as directed.

Work Standards
 • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working in staff areas.
 • Work independently and manage time effectively with minimal supervision.
 • Complete assigned tasks in a timely and thorough manner.

Minimum Requirements:

• Previous janitorial, housekeeping, or cleaning experience preferred.
 • Ability to work independently, manage workload, and take initiative.
 • Must be dependable, self-motivated, and attentive to detail.
 • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, bend, reach, and move between multiple floors.
 • Must successfully pass a background check.
 • Must have reliable transportation and be punctual.

Schedule:

• Full-time position with a flexible schedule.
 • Work hours will be outside of standard business hours (before 9:00 a.m. or after 5:00 p.m.).

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the following functions are required:
 CONSTANTLY: standing/walking, bending/stooping/squatting, pushing/pulling, grasping/gripping, reaching above the shoulder, lifting between 0 and 25 lbs.
 FREQUENTLY: coordination of hand/eye/foot, finger dexterity, lifting between 26 and 50 lbs.
 OCCASIONALLY: lifting over 100 lbs.

Compensation:

$18.00 per hour
