Position Overview
The Regional Safety Coordinator (RSC) will coordinate, collaborate, and drive consistency in the implementation of FBM’s safety policies and processes in a manner to ensure the overall success of the safety program. The RSC is also responsible for minimizing the risk of job-related incidents by monitoring operations and eliminating hazardous activities with working knowledge of OSHA General Industry and Construction Safety regulations and Department of Transportation regulations on a state and federal basis for assigned region.
Key Responsibilities
- This position requires extensive travel, approximately 75%, within the assigned territory.
- Provide guidance and oversight regarding the compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and other Federal, State and Local agencies.
- Incident reporting. Timely enter all incident into RMIS and make notification to the appropriate support team.
- Properly train and educate the Field Operations Team relating to safety practices, compliance, and other related programs.
- Maintain safety training records to include Power Equipment Certification.
- Partner with Operations, Human Resources, and other associated departments with regards to investigations and disciplinary actions.
- Report, interpret and analyze policies and procedures to provide consistency throughout the assigned territory.
- Recommend safety strategies and training to improve our Team Members safety awareness and reduce exposure to related hazards.
- Utilizing Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) data platform to ensure incidents are reported in a timely manner, interpret trends in safety metrics, and provide value added solutions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent. Associate or bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health or other related field is preferred.
- 3 years’ experience in Safety, Risk Management, or other related field.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written format.
- Other duties as assigned.
