Position Overview
The Engineer is responsible for the design, development and implementation of Hollow Metal and Wood Door Shop Drawings, acts as a liaison between groups and departments working on projects, facilitating the review and exchange of information. Maintain appropriate documentation. Supports team members and ensures that established goals and deadlines are met. Keeps superiors informed of status and significant problems
Key Responsibilities
Project Documentation & Communication
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
- Ensure all project records are complete and current.
- Keep management and superiors informed of project status and any significant problems.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination with internal teams and departments.
Design & Drafting Support
- Interpret architectural specifications and blueprints to develop CAD-based shop drawings for architect review.
- Assist with the research, design, and implementation of projects.
- Research and analyze design proposals, specifications, and application regulations.
- Support engineering projects and communicate key information across departments.
Client & Team Coordination
- Coordinate with clients and LIFD Project Manager to resolve issues related to application contracts.
- Support team members to ensure established goals and deadlines are met.
- Contribute to the creation and review of project documentation.
Product & Process Improvement
- Identify causes of product or process instability and recommend solutions.
- Ensure products and systems comply with client/customer specifications and applicable building codes.
- Assist in the research and development of new products and processes as needed.
- Manage material releases to production to ensure efficiency and alignment with customers’ critical path timelines.
- Conduct research to evaluate manufacturability and ease of assembly.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two years of additional computer training or equivalent combination of education,
- training, and experience
- Must have knowledge of structural steel and miscellaneous metals
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings and contract specifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Required)
Compensation
The listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and cost of living in the assigned market
- Base: $25-$36/Hourly
- Bonus: Not Eligible
Requirements
- After receipt of conditional offer of employment, must be able to pass drug screen/physical/background check.
