Job Title: Dining Services Sanitation Steward
Hours: 9:00AM- 5:30PM, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
Pay: $19.00 per hour, to commensurate with experience
Department: Dining Services
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform routine cleaning, sanitation, and preventive maintenance of kitchen equipment, facilities, and dining service areas according to established schedules.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment while following all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Clean and sanitize commercial kitchen equipment, floors, drains, refrigerators, freezers, hood filters, vents, walls, and other assigned areas.
- Complete equipment maintenance and cleaning records accurately and report maintenance, sanitation, pest, or safety concerns to management.
- Follow proper lifting techniques and safe work practices at all times.
- Assist with dishwashing, pot washing, and other sanitation duties as needed.
- Work independently while adapting to changing priorities and occasional alternate work hours for deep cleaning and preventive maintenance.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local health regulations, facility policies, HIPAA, confidentiality requirements, and mandatory training.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION | EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- 2-5 years prior experience in commercial food service operations, restaurant, hotel or housekeeping operations preferred.
