Job Title: Dietary Attendant
Hours: 10:30AM-7:00PM ; 40 hours per week. 4 days a week and every other weekend/holiday is required.
Pay: $17.00per hour
Department: Dining Services, Abington House North Dining Room
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Follow diet orders and assist with menu selections based on resident needs and preferences.
- Prepare and serve accurate portions and diets using count sheets and modified diet spreadsheets.
- Perform food and equipment temperature checks and maintain food inventory in the satellite kitchen.
- Clean and sanitize dishware, cookware, and kitchen equipment as directed.
- Transport food and supplies between the main and satellite kitchens.
- Prepare, serve, and document nourishments ordered by the dietitian.
- Deliver and retrieve meal carts and ensure timely and accurate meal service.
- Maintain resident diet cardex and uphold confidentiality of personal and medical information.
- Clean and reset dining areas, sweep/mop floors, and remove trash from food service areas.
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines; support emergency procedures and evacuation protocols.
- Collaborate with other departments to promote a clean, safe, and organized environment.
- Complete side jobs and additional tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training, prefer experience as a diet aide in long term care; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
