What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Associate position at FOT, LLC?
Oversee shipping and receiving functions. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping items, return orders; receiving, unpacking, verifying, and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products.
- Responsible for working with all departments to ensure Customer Satisfaction.
- Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.
- Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and non conformance to specifications.
- Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
- Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
- Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Determines method and mode of shipment to customer requirements.
- Prepares and expedites shipments: Determines labeling requirements including but not limited to: Assemble and pack product containers, preparing and affixing shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information for cartons, skids or other storage devices in an accurate manner including any special labels that are customer required. Prepares all shipping documents in a timely and accurate manner. Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
- Lift truck or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas
- Unpacks, examines, and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Able to receive and process all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Responsible for performing “other duties” as assigned by management.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must have exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Must have exceptional clerical skills for typing, filing, and the ability to use computer and internet systems to research potential business leads and emailing.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations.

- Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
- Manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including computers, calculators, registers, fax machines, and photo copiers, etc.

Work in cold & hot temperatures. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Frequent lifting or with other means for movement of boxes. May also include frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers can also be expected.
