Job Overview:
The Fostoria Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau is seeking a dynamic and full-time Chamber/Small Business Director to champion small business growth, community engagement, and tourism. This leadership position serves as the key connector between public and private entities, advancing initiatives that drive prosperity, promote tourism, and strengthen Fostoria’s business environment.

Duties:
- Member Relations: Lead recruitment, retention, engagement, and relationship management of Chamber members.
- Small Business Support: Develop and deliver programs, resources, and networking opportunities that support entrepreneurs and small business owners.
- Tourism & Visitor Engagement: Oversee the Fostoria Area Visitors Bureau, promoting tourism and managing related activities.
- Program Facilitation: Coordinate the Fostoria Area Safety Council in partnership with the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.
- Events & Fundraising: Plan and execute fundraising events, community celebrations, and annual programs that engage businesses and the public.
- Downtown Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to support downtown revitalization efforts and economic activity.
- Financial Oversight: Manage the Chamber, Visitors Bureau, and Farmers’ Market budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and reporting.
- Board Engagement: Collaborate with the Chamber Board of Directors, keeping them informed and involved in strategic decisions.
- Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong working relationships with merchants, business owners, and local organizations.
- Advocacy: Represent the interests of Chamber members in public policy matters at the local, state, and federal levels.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, WordPress, and social media platforms.
- Experience in budget development, marketing strategies, branding, and program planning.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Positive attitude, creative thinking, and problem-solving mindset.
- Experience coordinating volunteers and community initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with graphic design, digital marketing, and promotional tools
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in business, marketing, public relations, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Previous experience in nonprofit, economic development, chamber, or small business support strongly desired.
Other Requirements:
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License.
- Some evening and weekend availability for events.
