We are seeking a dedicated Baking Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support the bakery operations by assisting with bread, cookies and scone preparation, packaging, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing baked goods, including mixing, measuring, and assembling ingredients
- Package baked items efficiently for retail or wholesale purposes
- Support food production processes to ensure timely completion of orders
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards
- Handle food products safely and follow proper food handling procedures
- Support kitchen staff with general food preparation tasks and ingredient organization
- Ensure all baking and food handling activities adhere to health regulations and safety protocols
Experience
- Prior experience in baking, or pastry arts is highly desirable
- Experience in food production, catering, or restaurant environments is a plus
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper kitchen hygiene practices
- Familiarity with culinary techniques such as knife skills, food preparation, and cooking methods
- Previous roles involving customer service or food handling are advantageous
- Culinary school or relevant training in the food industry is beneficial but not required
