We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to support heavy civil and underground utility projects throughout The Bay Area. This role is ideal for candidates with strong field experience in heavy highway, bridge construction, wet utilities, trenching, and underground piping on public works projects.
Responsibilities:
- Support the successful delivery of heavy civil and underground utility projects.
- Coordinate field operations with Superintendents and Project Engineers.
- Track project schedules, budgets, and project documentation.
- Manage change orders and progress reporting.
- Maintain communication with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements and safety regulations.
- Mentor junior team members and assist with project planning and execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of heavy civil or underground utility construction experience.
- Hands-on experience with wet utilities, trenching, and underground piping in California.
- Familiarity with public works requirements and Cal/OSHA standards.
- OSHA 30 certification required.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work on active construction sites.
