Foster Garvey PC, a national law firm, is looking for a Legal Practice Assistant to support our Business Practice. The successful candidate will be an outgoing, organized, and detail-oriented team player. Strong client service and interpersonal skills are essential. The ability to make well-reasoned, effective decisions and manage time efficiently will be crucial to your success. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to help provide support to the Firm’s attorneys and clients.
This is a full-time position at our Washington, D.C., office, with the ability to work a hybrid schedule after the first 90 days of employment. The schedule for this position will be 9:00 am – 5:30 pm, and occasional overtime may be necessary to accommodate client needs.

The pay range for this position is $85,000 - $105,000 annually; however, actual pay may vary depending on the candidate’s education, training, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Responsibilities
- Run conflict checks through Intapp Open
- Draft and prepare engagement letters and waivers
- Perform administrative duties, including scheduling and preparing legal correspondence
- Manage attorney CLE requirements, including enrollment, tracking, and recording
- Process expense reimbursements via Chrome River
- Coordinate travel arrangements for attorneys
- Maintain attorney calendars in Outlook
- Schedule meetings and reserve conference rooms
- Prepare, format, proofread, and revise documents and correspondence
- Assist in reviewing and finalizing attorney pre-bills
- Provide in-person support for scanning and copying projects
- Manage document execution workflow through Docusign, including preparation, tracking, and follow-up
- Other duties or projects as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of experience in a legal or professional services organization, or high school diploma and 5-7 years of experience in a legal or professional services organization, or equivalent experience.
- Legal secretary or paralegal certificate is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with common transactional and corporate terms, procedures, and protocols (i.e., contracts and agreements)
- Broad computer knowledge, skills, and proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet browsers (Chrome and Firefox), and other compatible and related software
- Prior experience with liquor licensing and other liquor-related matters is a plus
- Ability to effectively and accurately present information and respond to questions from attorneys, clients, and employees
- Ability to prioritize issues and workload, as well as anticipate projects that need to be completed
- Commitment to excellent customer service
- Act as a liaison between the attorneys and other departments of the Firm
- Establish effective working relationships and appropriately interact with others and provide backup support as needed
- Observe attorney-client confidentiality
