Community Support Specialist

Foster Friend Foundation is seeking professional and dedicated Community Support Specialists to provide high‐quality support to children and adults with disabilities. This position focuses on promoting independence, emotional regulation, social development, and meaningful community engagement.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide direct support with daily living routines and independent living practices
- Assist individuals in developing emotional regulation strategies and social‐emotional competencies
- Encourage self‐advocacy, communication, and informed decision‐making
- Facilitate or support inclusive group activities, community outings, and enrichment programs
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with agency standards
- Collaborate with team members, families, and caregivers to ensure consistent, person‐centered support
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1-2 years working with individuals with disabilities
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem‐solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in community‐based settings
- Reliable transportation required
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Background checks are required in accordance with state and organizational policies
- Completion of all required agency and state trainings
