Job Title: Part-time Receptionist
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly wages)
Basic Purpose: This position is responsible for answering the company phone, greeting residents, guests and directing them to the appropriate departments.
Job Summary: Responsible for answering telephones and directing calls to the appropriate person and/or taking messages; greeting residents; directing residents and guests to their desired locations; and aiding in general office duties.
Performs other appropriate related and unrelated assigned duties.
Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Prefer 1 year or more experience
Zero Tolerance: Must successfully pass background and drug test.

- Is knowledgeable of resident rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment
- Follow safety regulations, reporting injuries or unsafe conditions and work practices to appropriate administrator
- Follow acceptable standards of personal hygiene and comply with department dress code
- Possess a fundamental understanding of sanitation and cleanliness
- Regular, punctual and dependable attendance
- Provide assistance to and work directly with staff, residents, family of residents, visitors, government agencies and the general public
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages the reception and main office area to ensure effective telephone and mail communications both internally and externally to maintain professional image
- Greets residents, staff, and visitors and assists them with their inquiries
- Light paperwork; minimal filing
- Connects telephone calls and accepts messages for those not in office
- Participates as needed in special department projects
- Maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each resident in the delivery of services to them. Interact with residents in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a caring environment
- Fully understand all aspects of residents' rights, including the right to be free of restraints and free of abuse. Responsible for promptly reporting to the charge nurse or administrative staff incidents or evidence of resident abuse or violation of residents' rights
- Assist in maintaining a safe, neat, and clean environment; report environmental deficiencies to maintenance such as lighting or equipment problems
- Communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with the resident, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors
- Perform all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures including thorough hand washing, use of disposable gloves where indicated, and proper disposal of soiled materials
- Support an atmosphere, which promotes a homelike environment
- Respond to inquiries relating to his/her particular area or to requests from residents, visitors, other personnel, etc. within given time frames and within established policy
- Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances
- Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned
