Role Overview:

Are you passionate about fresh foods and looking to make a meaningful impact? As a Category Manager/Buyer at Foster, you’ll drive change and contribute to our mission of positively affecting people and communities. In this role, you’ll leverage your expertise in procurement and supply chain management to ensure top-quality products and efficient processes, while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Sourcing: Identify and source high-quality products, ensuring value and alignment with our standards.
  • Forecasting and Trends: Analyze forecasts and market trends to meet fill rate objectives and minimize shrinkage.
  • Team Collaboration: Facilitate effective communication between Buyers, Salespeople, and Operations teams.
  • Procurement Leadership: Oversee all aspects of procurement and supply chain related to your product categories, including new business onboarding and inventory management.
  • Vendor Partnerships: Develop and manage relationships with vendors to ensure priority order fulfillment and compliance.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor market reports and advise on trends, quality conditions, and new product opportunities.
  • Freight Management: Manage freight operations, including local pick-ups, backhauls, and various transport modes.
  • Cost and Margin Management: Ensure accurate margin levels, cost controls, and contract compliance.
  • Performance Improvement: Develop solutions to enhance spoilage control, fill rates, and other key metrics.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of food procurement experience.
  • Expertise in product sourcing, forecasting, and supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 and related technologies.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
