Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts and other materials handling equipment to load, unload, and move inventory throughout the warehouse.
- Manage inventory levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 to ensure accurate stock control and order fulfillment.
- Supervise daily warehouse distribution activities, including shipping & receiving, order picking, packing, and staging.
- Lead team members by providing guidance on warehouse procedures, safety protocols (OSHA standards), and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain precise inventory control and reduce discrepancies.
- Collaborate with logistics partners and 3PL providers to coordinate shipments, optimize warehouse space, and improve overall supply chain flow.
- Implement process improvements related to materials handling, heavy lifting safety, and warehouse operations to boost productivity and safety standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse or a similar leadership role within a warehouse environment.
- Extensive forklift operation experience with valid certification; mechanical knowledge is a plus.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving processes, and logistics principles.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400 or similar platforms for inventory control.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy lifting, materials handling, and workplace safety compliance.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a collaborative work environment.
