FORWARD SERVICE CORPORATION (FSC) UPWARD BOUND PROGRAMS
Upward Bound Summer Program
A five-week position supervising and mentoring high school students, plus two in-service/training days. Working days will be as follows:
- Training(June2-3):Full-day training at the UW-River Falls(overnight accommodations provided)
- Campus Residential Component(June8-11, June 16-18, June 29-July 2, and July 7-9):Staff will live on campus at UW-River Falls and supervise students
- Community Service Component(June23-25):Staff will stay overnight at a camp or hotel and supervise students during community service activities
- Virtual Component Dates(June 1, 12, 15, 19, 22, 26 and July 6, 10):Staff will complete assigned virtual tasks or meetings
- Final Trip(July14-16):Trip to various locations and campuses in WI and neighboring states. Staff will stay overnight in hotels on the route and supervise students during the trip
Compensation:
UB Summer Counselor:
- Total of $4,050.00 plus an additional $100 for each returning year. Maximum pay of $4,550. Payment is paid in two installments: half mid-program and half at end.

What you get to do:
- Supervise, guide, tutor, and mentor students
- Supervise recreation, program activities and meals
- Rotating night supervision
- Assist in the development and implementation of activities in the residence unit
- Chaperone one-day and multi-day fieldtrips
- Prepare reports on academics, student behavior, meals, and accidents
- Participate in training and other staff meetings
Qualifications:
- As of June 2026, must be at least sophomore status with at least one year of experience at a post secondary education institution with a GPA of at least 2.75
- Have a high level of maturity, adaptability, ability to work on a team, self-disciplined
- Have familiarity with and sensitivity to the needs of adolescents
- Have strong leadership skills, highly accountable, and be reliable
- Can work with minimal supervision
- CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
