Job Title: Medical Assistant
Primary Location: Portsmouth, VA (Must be willing to travel to all locations)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Overview:
Tidewater Neurologists, Inc. and Sleep Disorder Specialists are seeking a dedicated and motivated Medical Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time opportunity offering professional growth and the chance to make a meaningful impact in patient care.
Please note: This position requires regular travel to all clinical locations in Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, and Portsmouth. Applicants must be comfortable commuting between sites as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
- Prepare and maintain patients’ medical records and documentation
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring effective communication
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical supplies
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless patient care
- Perform administrative duties, including data entry and record management using Microsoft Office and Excel
- Deliver excellent customer service to patients and their families
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in healthcare is a plus
- MA Certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a specialty practice
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (Athena preferred; training available)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent customer service skills
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to all clinical sites
